Useful Task List Template
The task list template can be used to track an event, project or any other to-do list whether being personal tasks, etc. and the primary purpose is to demonstrate what all tasks are to be done and what is their current status.
About the Template
- There are many different types of tasks that require monitoring. For example, there could be a requirement to monitor the progress of the project, or requirement to monitor the to-do task list or requirement of tracking the event progression, etc.
- Since there are multiple tasks that are required to be tracked along with their status, this kind of template would be required as it is not feasible to track the task along with their priority and remembering all the things at once and this could lead to delay of tasks, incomplete of tasks, unnecessary haste in completing the task and more margin of errors.
- One can customize the template per their requirement as there is no one single universal accepted template and further as stated earlier the templates serve different purposes to various users. Personal requirement tasks are different when compared with the business requirement.
- For example, in personal requirement the task requires to monitor would be to pay the bills on time, calling technician for household repairs, etc. and in case of business there could be multiple projects that have to be tracked along with their status and in case of business these are too crucial as not completing them on time could lead to reputation loss and also heavy charges to bear which shall ultimately affect the profit of the business.
Below are the details of the generalize Task List template and one can include additional columns per their requirement or can delete the same.
Part #1 – Task Status
This a very simple task list template and here we shall begin the template with task status. Task status here is in shapes wherein the first option is √ which shall indicate whether the task has been completed or this option could also mean that task is no longer required, either way, this option helps to eliminate the focus on that task. The second option is which shall mean that the task is still in open status and work has yet to be performed on the same.
Part #2 – Task Description
Here the task description will be used to determine in detail what the task means and what exactly has to be done. And in this one can mention whether the task has been completed or has been canceled, so that when one navigates then they should know whether the task was indeed completed or has been canceled.
Part #3 – Priority
Keeping the priority field will literally help to navigate to the action or the task and one can identify the most sensitive part and one can then focus upon the same. The priority task should be entered with timeliness, the highest degree of focus, etc. Priority can be defined such as “H” as a high priority, “L” as low priority and “M” as Medium priority or there could be other notations use such as coloring as red showing as the highest priority. Depending upon the purpose, one can define how to track the same.
Part #4 – Completion Date
This is the most important field in the Task List template as this will be used to track the due date by which the particular Task List has to be completed or the targeted completion date.
Part #5 – Task % Completion
This is the most relevant field that will be used in a task list template as here we present the status of the task completion which means here one can track how much the task has been completed.
Part #6 – Additional Notes
This is an additional field in the task list template wherein one can track any additional instructions or notes attached to that particular task. For example, a special instruction could be given to the task later on when the task has begun and the instruction didn’t exist before and it only came into the picture when the task was initiated. Additional notes could also include any other detail which requires the attention of the job performer.
How to use This Template?
In order to use this template, first one needs to decide whether the task to be tracked is a personal one or business one and further after deciding that whether they need to include any additional fields or delete some fields per requirement. Then one can describe the tasks in detail along with the task status and then mentioned the priority of the task whether those are of high, medium or low priority. Mention the estimated completion date of the project and finally add any additional notes that are attached to those tasks.
